MBBS BSc(Hons) AICSM FRCR. Consultant Radiologist β Princess of Wales Hospital
Is a senior consultant and the lead for neuroradiology training at the Imaging Academy of Wales.
He is a neuroradiologist at the tertiary referral centre in Cardiff and provides regional expertise at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend.
Dermot Mallon is a consultant neuroradiologist at the National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery.
He completed his radiology and academic training at Imperial College London and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. His sub-specialist interests include disorders of the skull base, neurodegeneration, stroke, and genetic, acquired, and inflammatory vasculopathies. He leads the imaging at two national referral MDTs for haemorrhage and moyamoya disease.
Following on from a PhD, Academic Clinical Fellowship and Clinical Lectureship, he has continued his research at the Queen Square Institute of Neurology through funding from the UCLH/UCL Biomedical Research Centre. Having published over 40 articles, his research interests include the use of advanced perfusion and metabolic imaging in stroke and neuro-oncology and the application of AI in neuroradiology.
He has taught at many national conferences and courses and is currently a lecturer for the UCL master's programmes in Advanced Neuroimaging and Stroke.
