We provide expertise in post-mortem imaging including care pathway development, scanning, reporting, staff and public education and medico-legal work.
We plan to achieve this through empowering NHS trusts and private healthcare providers to setup and manage their own post-mortem imaging services, enabling them to collaborate and support coronial services, which will provide greater coverage and accessibility to all communities in the UK.

Our name, Anubix is a name derived from the Egyptian god of the afterlife (Anubis) who is renowned for the care of the dead and guardian of their tombs. This beautifully aligns with our goals and values. We aim to respect the dead, assisting by telling their story through medical imaging and providing closure, where possible, to their families.

Post-mortem imaging is the use of modern imaging technology to scan the deceased. This technology is similar to what is used in the living and mostly includes CT scanning of the whole body.
The purpose of post-mortem imaging is as an adjunct, or replacement, for an autopsy with the purpose of providing information about why someone has died.
Post-mortem imaging provides many opportunities including:
Increased compassion for religious faith groups and bereaved families where an autopsy is avoided
Improved turnaround time in issuance of a death certificate
Reduced costs from body storage, staffing costs, where autopsy is avoided
Opportunity to re-review imaging data in the future for additional insights, should new information come to light
Additional information for medicolegal proceedings, particularly for forensic investigations
Breaking Barriers in Post-Mortem Imaging
We are truly humbled and honoured to be featured in RAD Magazine this month, sharing the heart of Anubix’s mission: to remove the stigma around post-mortem imaging and create a world where compassion meets innovation.
